- The death of a child of any age, from any cause is a shattering experience for a family.
- Family members experience many intense feelings. Grief with its ups and downs lasts far longer than society in general recognizes. Friends and relatives may be uncomfortable around the bereaved. They want to ease the pain but do not know how.
- Where does a family turn for the emotional support they will need during the grief journey that lies ahead of them?
- While there is no "right way" to grieve, many parents and siblings benefit from the understanding and support of other bereaved families. It helps to share with those who have had similar experiences. Expressing grief is easier done in an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding.
Our Monthly Meetings ...
...offer small group discussions and are a safe place to share your grief and your memories with others who understand. Whether you're newly bereaved or still struggling with the loss from years ago, you are welcome here.

A Bit of History
The Manchester Chapter of TCF was started in February, 2002. Initially, meetings were held at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester and later that year moved to The Manning House at Brookside Congregational Church, also in Manchester.
The Manning House was once a private residence but upon Mrs. Manning's death, the house was donated to the church. The chapel and church were added later. When the Manchester Chapter of TCF was looking to hold their meetings at the Manning House, they learned that Mrs. Manning was also a bereaved parent, having lost her son at the age of 14. Upon learning this piece of history, the decision to hold our monthly meetings here was made.
We now feel a special connection to the Manning House and to Mrs. Manning as well. Where would be a more appropriate place to honor the memories of all our precious children?
